OLAT – Operator Licence Awareness Training
OLAT – Operator Licence Awareness Training
This course can be delivered as a standalone single day course or a slower-paced course over several days.

Our objective is to ensure delegates understand their legal responsibilities in terms of being licence holders.
Quite often we work with Company Directors, Partners and Business owners as they are often the people accountable for keeping their organisations compliant.
We provide companies with an overview of Operator Licence requirements, help them understand the requirements of any undertakings given to the Traffic Commissioner when applying or maintaining an ‘O’ Licence.
Sometimes OLAT is a compulsory directive from a Traffic Commissioner (Generally for a operator holding either a Standard or Restricted Operator License that has appeared at a Public Inquiry) but more often, it’s the proactive and responsible measure taken by accountable executive directors wanting to protect their licences and their business.
OLAT comprise:
- Operator Licensing – Application; Conditions; Notifiable Changes; Legal Responsibilities
- Safe Loading of Vehicles – including Load Restraint, calculation of payload and safe load distribution
- Weights and Dimensions of Vehicles
